Aurora Cannabis Inc, the Canadian company that always remains at the forefront with respect to cannabis worldwide, announced today the appointment of Theresa Firestone as a member of the Company’s Board of Directors. Her position is effective immediately, and it is a newly created directorship that expands the Board to nine members, seven of whom serve independently.
There is no doubt that Firestone’s experience will be of great value to the Board, as she was highly regarded for her career as a senior healthcare executive with leadership positions in Asia, Canada, and Europe. Her areas of expertise include healthcare, retail, pharmaceuticals and government, and she has extensive experience in strategic planning, operations, and new business development. Based on this great background, there is no doubt that Aurora could stand to benefit greatly. Her experience includes more than 20 years of international P&L management, 15 years in senior management positions at a high-caliber company such as Pfizer, a little over ten years in positions related to the Ontario Ministry of Health and another seven years involved in retail and health and wellness.
Ronald Funk, President of Aurora Cannabis, stated, “We are delighted to welcome Theresa to our Board of Directors. She brings to us extensive experience in healthcare and pharmaceutical management, global business restructuring, new business development, and a proven ability to lead and manage change. Her experience and well-defined skills will be invaluable to us as we execute our strategic growth plans while managing costs more effectively. We look forward to benefiting from his many contributions to Aurora.”
Firestone holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of Guelph and has indicated she is very excited about her new position on Aurora’s Board of Directors. She will continue to do an excellent job in whatever role she is assigned and looks forward to being a key player in the development of any growth ideas the company will present in the future.
