Ayr Wellness approved for adult-use cannabis sales in Watertown, Massachusetts

The cannabis company continues to expand its retail presence in the state

America’s leading vertically integrated multi-state cannabis operator, Ayr Wellness, has not lasted long after receiving the green light to announce the opening of AYR in Watertown. This is now considered the company’s second dispensary for the recreational marijuana market in the greater Boston area. Sales began yesterday, and the store already appears to be a resounding success.

The dispensary is located at 48 North Beacon Street and features a wide variety of marijuana products and brands, including Entourage vaporizers, Kynd’s premium flower from Ayr, Secret Orchard vaporizers, Wicked edibles, and HAZE concentrates. The products vary and are geared for both novice consumers and those who have been in the cannabis world for quite some time.

“The opening of AYR in Watertown is another amazing milestone for our team. We are thrilled to be adding a second adult-use dispensary in Greater Boston in another great location,” said Jonathan Sandelman, founder, chairman and CEO of Ayr. “With our newly opened Back Bay dispensary hosting its Grand Opening Celebration on July 14, this is an important week for Ayr in Greater Boston. We look forward to celebrating these milestones with the Watertown community, where we maintain our commitment to being a great neighbor and community partner.”

The company had announced a few days ago that the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) had granted it a final license to begin selling adult-use cannabis in this dispensary. The green light comes after the CCC met on June 9, resulting in a positive vote.

By that time, Sandelman said he was extremely excited that Ayr would be able to create a much larger footprint in Beantown. The approval was all the more gratifying since the metro area has generally been underserved when it comes to access to adult-use cannabis. Sandelman assures that he and his team are extremely committed to using their platform to implement positive change, hoping to continue to demonstrate that promise.
