It was getting strange that July was coming to an end without another news of Ayr Wellness further expanding its Liberty Health Sciences (LHS) franchise in Florida. The leading multi-state operator (MSO) in the US has made great strides since acquiring this brand, with a new dispensary practically every month. Its 49th retail store has now opened in Clearwater, a city northwest of Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg.
Strategically located in the center of Pinellas County, at 314 S Belcher Road, the new dispensary will feature more than 6,100 square feet of retail space. As has been customary with all of Ayr’s other openings, consumers will have access to a diverse product offering of full-line concentrates, vapes, edibles and a growing selection of high-quality flowers. Kynd premium whole flower and Later Days whole flower will continue to be key products for all those consumers looking for high quality.
“The opening of our Clearwater store continues our rapid expansion in Florida, where we’ve opened 49 stores,” said Jonathan Sandelman, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Ayr. “Since acquiring Liberty Health Sciences in 2021, we prioritized opening stores in prime locations across the state in an effort to make high-quality cannabis more accessible to patients across Florida.”
Ayr made the decision to purchase LHS in February of last year. The Sunshine State-based brand used to have a total package of 31 dispensaries at the time of closing. Since then, Ayr has been relentless in expanding that footprint by opening 18 additional locations across the state.
The company, in addition to now providing operations in Clearwater, also has three other dispensaries in Pinellas County, considered Florida’s most populous county. The leading cannabis industry firm says it is implementing plans to relocate its Dania Beach dispensary, which is expected to reopen in the coming weeks.
