The leading multi-state cannabis operator in the US, Ayr Wellness, announced a few days ago the opening of its newest dispensary in Eustis, FL. The news comes to reaffirm the company’s position in the Sunshine State, a place where the marijuana industry couldn’t be better.
According to the report, the dispensary will occupy over 3,000 square feet of prime commercial space in the lakeside city of Eustis. One of the most relevant features of this store is that it is considered to be the first dispensary in the state to be built and designed entirely by the Ayr team, as well as incorporating different design elements based on the company’s upcoming flagship dispensaries in the Boston area in Back Bay and Watertown.
Earlier this year, Ayr completed all the necessary paperwork to add Florida-based Liberty Health Sciences to its portfolio. This firm had more than 30 dispensaries throughout the state, which was a catapulting acquisition for Ayr to have a large presence in the Sunshine State. Since that time, Ayr has refused to stand still and has opened a dozen additional locations, bringing the number to 43.
The cannabis market in this state, boasting over 650,000 enrolled patients, ranks it third in the nation for total cannabis sales. It is not at all surprising after seeing it generate $1.2 billion in medical cannabis revenue in 2020. According to many experts’ forecasts, if this market continues at this pace, it is likely to generate $2.6 billion in sales per year by 2026.
Jon Sandelman, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Ayr Wellness, said, “With 43 stores now open in Florida and another 30 locations under lease, we continue to expand our presence with our latest opening in Eustis. The Eustis store is notable both for its prime location, and for being Ayr’s first Florida store to incorporate our customer-centric design philosophies. The retail experience highlights our improved product selection, curated to meet consumer needs across every product category, and is designed to foster meaningful relationships with every customer and community member who comes through our doors.”
