Canopy Growth adds more awards to its growing list of accomplishments

The cannabis company proves its ability to serve multiple markets with its latest approval

There are a lot of benefits to cannabis consumption and they’re not limited to only humans. Canopy Growth is a leading cannabis company that offers a range of products to consumers, including softgels, infused beverages, therapeutics and more. The company is also introducing a new line of products, through its Canopy Animal Health (CAH) subsidiary, designed for the pet industry and is off to a great start. CAH was just awarded the NASC Quality Seal.

The National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) is a non-profit organization that works to protect and enhance the health of companion canines in the US. CAH announced yesterday that it had been approved to display the group’s Quality Seal on its upcoming product line, expected to launch within the next couple of weeks. The seal is important, as it indicates that the company displaying it has “passed rigorous standards in proving the quality and safety of its products.”

Among those standards are strict labeling requirements, including specific warnings for certain ingredients as recommended by the Center for Veterinary Medicine of the FDA. Companies also have to submit to random product testing conducted by an independent lab to ensure that the listed ingredients match what the products contain and must show documented quality control and production policies that ensure a consistent product.

CAH Director of Veterinary Educational and Technical Services Robert Menardi said in a statement, “Canopy Animal Health has conducted a great deal of critical research over the last four years in the development of science-based CBD products that improve the lives of pets. The NASC Quality Seal affirms our dedication to providing safe and high-quality CBD products for companion animals.”
