Canopy Growth chooses NFL receiver to endorse BioSteel Sports Nutrition

DeAndre Hopkins is now going to represent the up-and-coming cannabis company

One of the market leaders in the cannabis industry has closed a major deal with the NFL for its line of cannabidiol (CBD) products. Canopy Growth, through its BioSteel Sports Nutrition Inc. subsidiary, announced today a significant partnership between star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and the sports hydration company. It’s one of the largest deals to date for Hopkins and a major step for the cannabis business, as well, given that Hopkins has also signed as an investor in the company.

Hopkins has shown an impressive talent for business, bringing his strong work ethic off the field. That, combined with this high-quality line of the brand’s all-natural, sugar-free products, makes him a great addition to Team BioSteel and investor team. This new deal also helps the company position its brand stronger as a leader in healthy sports hydration. “As someone who has been using BioSteel products for years, this partnership came about naturally,” says Hopkins. “As a businessman and equity partner in the company, I see this collaboration as an opportunity to expand the brand as it continues to redefine the sports hydration industry.”

BioSteel has been finding success in the market as it is quickly becoming the choice of consumers seeking more healthy options in the sports drink space. As the company continues its expansion across the North American region, it has selected some of the top athletes of major leagues to help to tell the story. “Authenticity is everything to us as we continue to grow our brand,” says Michael Cammalleri, BioSteel co-founder and Co-CEO. “We’re excited to announce and partner with someone like DeAndre, who is a strong believer in the product, to help amplify our story and accelerate our growth.”

Other sports professionals who are partners of BioSteel include Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes, who has been a consumer of the brand’s products even before being endorsing the company. Now, Hopkins and Mahomes hope to reach new health-conscious consumers and aspiring athletes.
