Since cannabidiol (CBD) is a legal substance in the US, it is easier for companies dedicated to market hemp-extract CBD products for the sports industry. One of the leaders in CBD products, Canopy Growth, has entered a deal for sports brand creation that will be sponsored by an NBA team. Working in conjunction with BioSteel, a wellness and health brand focusing on products for athletes, Canopy Growth is launching a line of CBD products that will be featured as the official sports drink for the Brooklyn Nets basketball arena.
The Nets’ arena is a state-of-the-art facility that includes an HSS Training Center in which BioSteel CBD products will also be displayed, and its logos placed all around the arena. Canopy Growth has taken a major step ahead of the competition in signing its first multi-year partnership with a professional sports tea, and Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships at BSE Global, Bryan Calka, stated, “The Brooklyn Nets have been using BioSteel products for years, and becoming our official sports drink partner is a natural evolution of our relationship.” He added, “Sports nutrition is of the utmost importance to our team, and we are looking forward to expanding our work with BioSteel as it continues to lead the way in nutritional support for athletes everywhere.”
The BioSteel CBD products line had the intention since the beginning of focusing on high-performance athletes in a professional level, signing a deal with an NBA Basketball team is quite an accomplishment. “We commend the Brooklyn Nets for making a healthy choice by partnering with a sugar-free sports drink company,” said BioSteel co-CEO, co-Founder, and former NHLer, Michael Cammalleri. “With this alliance, BioSteel tips off one of many major US-based marketing initiatives that we will be rolling out this year as we rapidly expand our presence in the United States.”
