Canopy Growth makes huge strides in Canada’s cannabis market

The cannabis company is opening ten more retail dispensaries in the country

The Canadian cannabis market has been growing strong after the approval of Cannabis 2.0, and more cannabis ventures are expanding their presence in the country. Canopy Growth Corporation is one, and has announced its arrival to the province of Alberta with ten new brick-and-mortar retail cannabis locations. The dispensaries will operate under the banners of its award-winning Tweed and Tokyo Smoke brands, and this move represents the company’s latest retail expansion in the country to increase its market share.

Out of the ten stores total, Canopy is opening six under the name of Tokyo Smoke, and all six locations are scheduled to be open over the course of this week – most stores will be located in the city of Calgary. On the other hand, four Tweed stores are also ready to open this week, as well. “With 10 new stores set to open and additional locations in the pipeline, we are thrilled to announce this milestone and excited to bring the Tokyo Smoke and Tweed guest experiences to Alberta for the first time,” said Grant Caton, General Manager for Canada at Canopy Growth. “We’ve seen the value brick-and-mortar retail brings to our consumers – welcoming new guests to learn about cannabis and building relationships in new communities – and we’re excited to share our knowledge and industry leadership across the region.”

Both brands are focused on delivering a great retail experience to customers. Tokyo Smoke delivers more of an elevated shopping experience thanks to its curated accessories and cannabis products that are grouped according to the brand’s signature Intent System, which helps consumers to choose the right product for their desired experience. The Tweed retail experience has a more approachable and warm touch thanks to its friendly and knowledgeable Tweed tenders, who will be ready to provide customers with cannabis education as a central part of a welcoming environment.
