Canopy Growth VP is now part of the Benzinga Cannabis Advisory Council

Sol Clahane will become part of the group prior to its next big event later this month

The Benzinga Cannabis Advisory Council is an organization that was created to honor some of the most influential leaders in the cannabis industry. The members share their knowledge through a series of articles, opinion pieces and live conversations that take place at Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conferences. The most recent addition to this council comes from one of the leading companies in the legal cannabis market, Canopy Growth. The company’s vice president and general manager for the US, Sol Clahane, announced that she has joined this advisory council ahead of the next virtual event scheduled for August 18.

Working as an executive for Canopy Growth, Clahane is in charge of managing all Canopy Commercial operations and other brands that are being distributed in the US market, such as BioSteel, First & Free, This Works and the Martha Stewart cannabidiol (CBD) product portfolio, one of the newest releases. Clahane has developed some leading strategies for sales and business development, which has been the reason behind the growth the company has experienced in this region. “I’m thrilled to represent Canopy Growth as part of the Benzinga Cannabis Advisory Council and look forward to working with this impressive group of industry peers to share insights and advance a common agenda,” said Clahane.

Besides her great work at Canopy Growth and all of her previous experience working for different industries, Clahane also made time to give back the community. She works closely with multiple nonprofit organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club of America, Safe Haven Women’s Shelter and Lapiz Rojo. Her background is in business administration and political science and she has an Executive Leadership Certificate in Business Management from John Hopkins University.

“Having Sol join our board is nothing short of an honor. This woman has been tasked with the huge mission of leading Canopy’s U.S. efforts, and with reason. I can’t wait to see what comes out of adding such a great mind to the organization,” said Benzinga Cannabis Managing Director and El Planteo CEO Javier Hasse.
