Canopy Growth’s BioSteel adds soccer star Sergiño Dest as latest ambassador

The sports drink company has a number of world-leading athletes in its ranks

The list of ambassadors for BioSteel Sports Nutrition, partially owned by cannabis company Canopy Growth, continues to grow. This time, the brand announced its latest athletic partnership with Sergiño Dest, an American player who plays as a defender for FC Barcelona in Spain’s First Division.

Dest now becomes part of the team of high-quality athlete ambassadors who support the brand. Among them are Patrick Mahomes of the NFL, Luka Dončić of the NBA, and Christen Press, another soccer star who plays forward for Angel City FC of the National Women’s Soccer League and the US National Team.

One of US Soccer’s sponsors is BioSteel, which means players like Dest and Press hydrate with its beverages on the sidelines of matches. As the newest member of the brand’s roster of ambassadors, Dest will receive ongoing support from Clean. Healthy, Hydration, both on and off the field.

In addition to this, he will expand BioSteel’s line of sugar-free hydration products for the large community and fans that follow him around the world. Being part of FC Barcelona means having a great influence, especially when it comes to the European continent.

“Clean hydration and being smart about what I put into my body are essential to my time on the field and to my overall healthy lifestyle,” Dest said. “I look forward to taking the field with the support of BioSteel and working with the brand to introduce my community to the same sugar-free hydration products I drink to support my daily hydration routine.”

On the other hand, BioSteel co-CEO and co-founder John Celenza praised Dette for being an elite player who plays an important role in the defensive department. That’s why the company is pleased to be able to provide him with all the support he needs, something that, at the end of the day, will be mutual.

“Given our existing sponsorship with US Soccer, this partnership will further amplify our brand in the soccer community and beyond, and we look forward to introducing our sugar-free hydration products to more athletes and health-conscious consumers,” said Celenza.

The brand is committed to keeping product transparency and quality intact while providing the nutrients necessary to deliver the energy needed throughout the day. Each electrolyte-packed sports drink comes in an eco-friendly Tetra Pak.
