Charlotte’s Web has a new sales leader

Tony True has joined the company to help with its sales efforts

Charlotte’s Web Hemp (CNQ: CWEB) has already had considerable success in the cannabidiol (CBD) product space, setting up one of the largest hemp farms and distribution networks in the US. As competition continues to become more fierce, though, it’s going to need some additional assistance to stay on top and has turned to a known sales bull to keep the momentum going. Tony True is now part of the Charlotte’s Web team, ready to take on the world as the company expands.

True will be given the new role of Chief Customer Officer. He will be responsible for creating and managing the company’s sales strategy and forecasting, retail execution and customer development and relationships.

The executive comes to Charlotte’s Web straight from Pharmavite, where he was the VP of North American Sales and the Executive VP of Sales. He was with the company for two years, and had held senior positions with Kellogg Company, Pepsi Beverages and McNeil Consumer Healthcare before being recruited by Pharmavite.

Charlotte’s Web CEO Deanie Elsner, who was tapped to lead the company in April and who is also a former Kellogg executive, said in a statement, “Tony’s three decades of sales leadership at both consumer product goods and healthcare companies is a valuable combination to support the Company’s next phase of growth. His appointment is a timely addition to our evolving leadership team, as we continue to bring in top-tier talent to further extend Charlotte’s Web’s leadership position in the market.”

Company Chairman and co-founder Joel Stanley adds, “We’re very excited to have Tony join our Company. He is a natural fit for Charlotte’s Web as we continue to evolve and plan for global expansion. As the industry’s leading brand, we will benefit greatly from his sales leadership experience at world-class CPG and healthcare brands.”
