Charlotte’s Web Holding’s Board of Directors now has a new member. The market leader in hemp extract and cannabidiol (CBD)-based wellness products recently announced the appointment of Jonathan P. Atwood. The Board receives fresh experience from a senior executive in the consumer-based consumer goods sector. His experience at British American Tobacco (BAT), Reynolds American, Unilever and Kraft Foods will undoubtedly be of great value to the cannabis company.
Atwood currently holds the role of Director of BAT’s Corporate Communications Group and is in charge of all internal, external and corporate brand communications for BAT. One of his main focuses is to amplify BAT’s corporate purpose of A Better Tomorrow. Having delivered a strong performance, Atwood was nominated to the Board by BAT in connection with its November purchase of convertible debentures in Charlotte’s Web.
During his time at Unilever, Atwood held senior management positions. Among his most recent roles was head of global supply chain communications. Atwood is known to be a strong advocate for sustainability and has worked closely with B Corps companies. Importantly, Charlotte’s Web is currently the only publicly traded B-Corp-certified CBD company.
“We welcome Jonathan as a valuable addition to the Board where he can support our international and sustainability ambitions. We look forward to working closely together on our mutually shared interests,” said John Held, Chairman of the Board of Charlotte’s Web. The addition of Atwood brings Charlotte’s Web’s Board membership to six members.
In addition, the company said that it is on schedule to disclose its fourth-quarter and year-end financial results prior to the opening of the markets on March 23, 2023. To share these numbers, a conference call has been scheduled for Thursday of next week at 11:00 AM ET.
Congratulation!
