Last week, Liberty Health Sciences (CNQ: LHS) announced that it had been given approval to sell cannabis flower in Florida. The Florida Department of Health (DOH) signed off on the company’s request to offer whole-flower smokables in the state, making Liberty one of the first cannabis companies in Florida to provide smokable medical marijuana to patients. Now, the company has received yet another approval, further securing Liberty’s position in the state as the leading medical cannabis company.
The DOH has given the green light to Liberty for it to offer pre-rolls to medical cannabis patients in the Sunshine State. The move comes following the lifting of a ban on smokable medical marijuana that was instituted less than two weeks ago, and will provide a great amount of flexibility for marijuana patients in choosing which products are right for them.
According to Liberty interim CEO Victor Mancebo, “We have seen first-hand how easier access to cannabis positively impacts our patient’s lives. We hope to bring additional visibility to the importance access plays in helping our patients cope with a host of ailments and other complicated medical conditions. Time and again, we hear from patients how whole-flower marijuana has saved them from negative side effects of prescription drugs.”
According to Senate Bill 182, which was recently signed into law by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, medical marijuana patients can now smoke marijuana to treat their symptoms. The law gives patients access to medicine in whichever form their physicians indicate is right for them, whether it be through smokables, vaporizers, sublinguals or other delivery systems.
Adds Mancebo, “We applaud Governor DeSantis for signing bill SB 182 that allows qualified patients to smoke medical marijuana. We are ready to meet the needs of our patients and will work with doctors who prescribe safe, smokable flower to best treat their patients with the delivery mechanism they feel is most appropriate.”
Congratulation!
