Liberty Health Sciences (CNQ: LHS) is already a well-established cannabis company in Florida, but it isn’t done yet. It has 20 dispensaries already approved by the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) that are in operation, and is about to add another, once the FDOH signs off on the application. This newest store will mark Liberty Health’s 21st and is part of the company’s plan to have another 20 to 30 in place by next February.
The newest dispensary will be located in Sarasota on Siesta Drive. Like its other shops, Liberty Health will see this one open seven days a week to allow consumers ample time to be able to purchase their products. The dispensary measures 1,100 square feet and includes a retail and reception area, a private consultation room and a waiting room. Also like the other dispensaries, and part of Liberty Health’s decorating regime, locally-inspired wall art will be used throughout the location.
Victor Mancebo, Liberty Health’s interim CEO, said in a statement about the new dispensary, “We are extremely proud to open a dispensary in the beautiful city of Sarasota and appreciate how local officials have welcomed us into their community. This location truly solidifies our presence on the west coast, having just opened our Bradenton store this week and operating stores in Bonita Springs and Cape Coral, with Ft. Myers opening in the near future. We look forward to working with current and prospective patients who are new to cannabis and our wide array of industry-leading products.”
Florida has a robust medical cannabis program. According to the state’s Office of Medical Marijuana Use, there are 287,000 registered medical marijuana patients in the state, as well as 2,5000 registered ordering physicians. According to the FDOH, the industry is worth an estimated $5.7 billion this year alone.
Congratulation!
